NW1 Theatre School Blackpool End of Year Cabaret and Awards Show Shines Bright at Central Pier

On Saturday 6th July, the Central Pier Show Bar in Blackpool was transformed into a dazzling hub of creativity and celebration as NW1 Theatre School Blackpool hosted its spectacular End of Year Cabaret and Awards Show. The much-anticipated first of an annual event brought together students, families, and friends for an unforgettable afternoon of performance, pride, and recognition.

A Showcase of Talent and Teamwork

The afternoon was a true celebration of the performing arts, with the entire school taking to the stage to showcase their skills in acting, singing, and dancing. Highlights of the night included full ensemble numbers such as ‘We Belong’ from Priscilla Queen of the Desert, high-energy group performances from The Greatest Showman, and recent West End newcomer Why Am I So Single?.

Soloists also stepped into the spotlight, delivering moving renditions of musical theatre classics. ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ from The Wizard of Oz brought a hush over the crowd, while ‘Good Morning Baltimore’ from Hairspray had the audience tapping their feet with joy.

The afternoon wasn’t just about performance, it was about celebrating each and every student. All performers received a Certificate of Achievement and a Class of 2024-25 patch to proudly add to their NW1 hoodie, honouring their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

NW1 Theatre School Awards & Recognitions

In addition to the group recognition, several individual awards were presented to highlight exceptional progress, leadership, and resilience:

Announcing the 2025-26 Captains

Leadership roles for the upcoming academic year were also unveiled, with students stepping into exciting new positions to guide and inspire their peers:

Honouring Resilience and Role Models

Two standout awards closed the ceremony with emotion and admiration:

🌟 Outstanding Achievement Award: Aled Recognised for his unwavering commitment and strength in the face of a personally challenging year, Aled’s dedication to NW1 has been nothing short of inspiring.

👑 Student of the Year: Annie A true role model within the school, Annie’s passion, work ethic, and all-around excellence embody everything NW1 stands for. Her commitment to the arts and her bright future ahead are a testament to her talent and character.

As the curtains closed on another extraordinary year at NW1 Theatre School Blackpool, it was clear that this was more than just a showcase, it was a celebration of community, creativity, and courage.


Here’s to another year of NW1 Blackpool as we take on the incredible 'We Will Rock You', with auditions taking place next week.
