On Sunday 13th July, NW1 Theatre School St Annes brought energy, emotion, and electrifying talent to the stage at their annual End of Year Cabaret and Awards Show.

With two fantastic showcases — a Mini Show at 1pm and the Junior & Senior Show at 3:30pm. The day was packed with music, movement, and memorable moments that truly celebrated the spirit and creativity of NW1, despite the heat of the day.

Mini Show Magic: Big Talent in Little Packages

The youngest stars of NW1 kicked things off with a burst of personality and confidence in the Mini Show, proving that age is no limit to stage presence.

The Mini Movers, accompanied by their brilliant senior student helper Ollie, wowed the audience with a slick and confident hip hop medley, showing off cool moves and beaming smiles that lit up the room.

The little ones also showed off their storytelling skills with delightful poem recitations, charming the crowd with their confidence and clarity.

And of course, hearts melted during their sweet and emotional musical theatre performance of ‘Tomorrow’ from Annie, a true show-stopper.

Junior & Senior Showcase: A Celebration of Artistry

Later in the day, the Junior and Senior students turned up the volume and raised the bar with a powerful and diverse range of performances.

The Junior Musical Theatre team lit up the stage with their joyful and lively rendition of ‘Consider Yourself’ from Oliver, while NW1 Drama transported the audience into fantasy with a dramatic scene from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Laurienne’s Singing Squad delivered a powerful version of ‘My Heart Will Go On’ by Celine Dion. Charlie and William's recreation of the Titanic bow scene and Casey's Kazoo solo earned laughter and cheers.

Not to be outshone, the Swing Cast of Into The Woods, the understudies who stood ready throughout NW1’s recent Senior musical, had their own moment to shine with a polished performance of the show’s intricate intro, a beautiful nod to their hard work and dedication.

The dramatic offerings continued with Shakespeare scenes, showcasing NW1’s passion for classic theatre, and a bold, moving physical theatre piece by Marshall and Olivia, reimagining Romeo & Juliet through dance and emotion to Stormzy’s ‘Blinded by Your Grace’ — a powerful fusion of old and new that left the audience stunned.

We ended the show with a high-energy Street Dance medley from both Junior and Senior Street Dance teams, fusing remixed hits like Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation, Lady Gaga’s Judas, and Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk into a non-stop dance spectacular that had everyone captivated.
